HARRIS ZHU was created in 2018 by designers and founders, Jia-Jia Zhu and London Harris. We received a gift of the clearest crystal quartz on our trip to the desert and that was the start of our first collection. We believe in creating pieces with the natural minerals our earth provides us. We allow our intuition and energy to draw us to the minerals we work with. Our designs start from our chosen crystals, which we create around using gold, diamonds, and semiprecious hand carved gemstones. Each crystal serves as a vessel of energy that embodies beauty, love, and truth. Pieces are all one of a kind and handmade in New York City.

Growing up between Shanghai and California, Jia-Jia Zhu is influenced by both city life and nature walks. Her passion for art and commerce brought her to New York City to study Art History & Economics at NYU and to pursue a career in the fashion industry. After a successful fourteen years as a buyer, she resigned in 2017 as the buyer of Women’s Wear and Jewelry at Bergdorf Goodman to live in Bali. She spent this time diving into her own spirit and becoming a student of Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki. Jia-Jia descends from eight centuries of Chinese Medicine Herbalists and Healers, who blended Earth’s plants to make medicine; this inspired her creation of HARRIS ZHU, where each piece is sourced from Earth’s minerals. She believes that creation and energy is happening each second, all around us. HARRIS ZHU is an expression of this energy.
Native New Yorker London Harris has always been a jewelry aficionado – a love she inherited from her Grandmother whom she credits for instilling in her an appreciation of the arts and finely crafted jewelry. This passion ultimately inspired her to launch HARRIS ZHU. After graduating from Syracuse University with a degree in Retail Management and Consumer Studies, London entered the retail industry. While she worked in the buying offices at Scoop NYC and Saks Fifth Avenue, London was able to cultivate her sense of retail business while refining her design sensibility.
